Our org. gets lots and lots of donations and support from Organizations, but the system won't display the name of an organization like it does for an individual. This is a serious issue considering it's very easy to duplicate an organization and, more importantly, because I can't accurately credit the gift to the org, which makes a number of other tasks unnecessarily complicated. HELP PLEASE!!!
e.g. A person signs up after learning about the organization. Then they get general messages and decide that they want to become a "member" and "join." The person can do so by either making a donation of a specific amount on a given page or they could take a number of actions on advocacy alerts (a threshold of, let's say, 5 separate actions) that entitles them to membership. From there the UID that Salsa generates for the record is their membership number and each year the system will automatically generate a message to re-up their membership if they haven't donated or taken enough actions over the year to qualify at the membership threshold.
Once they are members they get more messages with distinctive opportunities, such as a special product giveaway for a certain donation amount or an opportunity to register for a conference earlier than others and as such will get special treatment as an early-bird register or perhaps they get a special e-newsletter at the end of the year showing all that the organization accomplished that isn't sent to prospective members.
What would happen on the backend is when a donation is made on a certain donation form a prospective member is taken out of the prospective member group or untagged with from that tag and moved to the other group and/or tagged as a member for the 2011-12 calendar or fiscal year. The system will have auto-launching e-mails to remind about membership each year and it will also generate a printable membership card once the membership is confirmed for another year.
All of this seems do-able from technical perspective. I hope it can happen in the near future with future iterations of the Salsa platform.
Nor can I determine how to change their order.
I keep seeing an empty rectangle at the top middle of the screen, and some text that reads, "This template does not have a valid content TemplateBeginEditable tag." When I try to add elements of our designed template to the blank template I set up, it pulls in the middle third of our website, with the sign-up page. I've left the app live so that someone can see it (and hopefully help!):
Any suggestions? I don't especially want to leave this live for long, though I've hidden it on the apps menu, so not many folks are going to see it...
Create template is bombing! Didn't your supprot guys notice it yet? It's been bombing all afternoon! Expand...
The webpage at https://hq-salsa.wiredforchange.com/salsa/hq/p/salsa/template/common/hq/selectCreator?Name=Web%20Template%20-%20May%2026,%202011&Type=Website%20Template&is_default=0 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer." I cleared my cache and cookies and it does the same thing. Please advise.
I have a main sign up list but want to alter the URL with a tag for their specific interests. Whats the easier way to do that with just one sign up form?
Am I missing an easier way to do this?
Testing donation pages and storefronts often involves many pieces, including thank-you pages, trigger emails to the donor and the organization, tell-a-friend functionality, connecting it to an actions workflow, etc.
If I test this more than four times, I get the following message:
Due to daily transaction restrictions, your current IP address(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) has been blocked from making transactions.
Please wait 24 hours before trying again.
If you feel this is not correct, please contact the organization.
This is an absurd restriction to place on transactions being done for testing purposes. Please remove this unnecessary restriction when testing transactions.
Mostly I'm looking for a way to bring the RSVP field up more toward the top of the page (above the maps, directions, etc).
I want the RSVP to be front and center.
Is there a way to force the form to accurately overwrite the old data with the empty field from the second donation?
What I have now is what you see below:
https://[[domain]]/o/[[Org ID number]]/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=[[key]]
What I would like to be able to do is insert a canonical reference into the meta data:
<link rel="canonical" href="
https://[[domain]]/o/[[Org ID number]]/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=[[key]]".
I don't see any documentation on how to do this with each given template.
For more on why adding a canonical URL is important, please go to and read the first post: http://expressionengine.com/archived_forums/viewthread/107051/
Is that something we could do with Salsascript or the APIs so it would dynamically generate for Actions, petitions, or a particular donation tracking code?
Here's my jquery example: http://wfc2.wiredforchange.com/o/8934/p/salsa/web/common/public/signup?signup_page_KEY=6086
Now, with this same functionality, it can help promote the Google +1 widget.
And adding this to the body where you want the button to show up:
<g:plusone size="medium" count="true" href="<where you would pull in the URL for the Google +1 widget"></g:plusone>
If there is a way to call out the URL from each page the same way it works for email (e.g. [[email_blast_key]]) it would be a great addition to the platform, not to mention it will help promote SEO by allowing for canonical URLs to exist on the platform.
The first fix is for displaying Actions in Actions 2.0. When you have an Action where you have a long list of targets, the form for the Action displays after the list of targets, which looks a bit strange and requires more scrolling.
Here is the code you need to add to your template for the fix. This code goes in the CSS portion of your code, which should be in the <head> section between the <style type="text/css"> and </style> tags:
You should make sure that if your template contains a footer, you add this to the CSS for the footer:
This will make sure that the footer appears after any content on the page.
Please reply with any of your CSS fixes!
